FAQs

  • Where are you located?

Our head office and supply yard are located at 45-47 Shelley Road, Moruya. SEQL quarries are situated in Mogo, McKenzies Beach and Coolagolite.

  • Do you deliver?

Yes, we deliver. Delivering north to Milton, south to Eden and west to Braidwood and Bemboka. For deliveries outside these areas, please contact our office to discuss.

  • Is there a minimum delivery size?

No. Delivery is charged by the load, so you pay the same amount for delivery if there is half a tonne or a full load.

  • What size trucks do you have?

SEQL operates a fleet of tippers ranging from 3 tonnes through to 12- and 16-tonne rigids and truck and trailer combinations.

  • Can I get a mixed load?

We do not recommend this. We do not have dividers in our trucks, so any materials loaded together are not guaranteed to stay separated.

  • How many tonnes to a cubic metre?

The conversion rate depends on the type of product. As a general rule of thumb, the conversion rates are:

    Sand: 1.4 tonnes/cubic metre

    Soil: 1.4 tonnes/cubic metre

    Fill: 1.4 tonnes/cubic metre

    Aggregates: 1.3 tonnes/cubic metre

    Decorative Stones: 1.3 tonne/cubic metre

Road base: 1.5 tonnes loose to the cubic metre, 2 tonnes compacted to the cubic metre

  • How much notice do you need?

Deliveries are dependent on your location and required quantities, although SEQL do aim to deliver orders the next day if not the same day. To avoid disappointment, it is recommended that you provide at least 1 day’s notice for mini and rigid deliveries and 2 days’ notice for Truck & Dog and multiple loads.

  • Can I visit SEQL’s quarries to pick up materials?

For health and safety reasons our quarries are not open to the general public. SEQL stock a large range of products in the supply yard at 45-47 Shelley Road, Moruya, where  customers are welcome to view and pick up products.

  • I need some gravel for my driveway. What do you recommend?

For driveways we recommend a road base. Road base is comprised of crushed rock (generally around 20 mm), smaller rock particles and fines which help to bind it all together and compact to create a hard road surface.

  • What type of rocks do you sell?

The main type of rock we sell is basalt rock. We also sell river stones ranging in size from 20 mm to 120 mm.

  • What size landscaping rocks do you sell?

Our basalt landscaping rocks are naturally extracted, and as such, the size and shape vary. We provide rocks to meet your general size requirements, from 200 mm in diameter to 1 metre plus and anything in-between.

  • How many basalt landscaping rocks fit in a truckload?

This will depend on the size of the rocks you are wanting. For 400-500 mm diameter basalt rocks, you could expect to get approximately 20 to 25 rocks per tonne.

  • What types of mulches do you sell? What’s the difference?

We stock Cottage/Leaf Blend Mulch, Pine Chip and Eucy Mulch. All these mulches will assist in retaining moisture in the soil and suppressing weeds. The fundamental difference between them is what they look like.

  • What payment options are available?

SEQL offers a variety of payment options, including credit card, EFTPOS, cash, electronic funds transfer, and account.
